The history of Kennington Park Business Centre begins in where the grand property began life as the operational headquarters of the General Motor Cab Company – an ambitious transport enterprise in Edwardian London. At its peak, the site housed offices, three-storey garages and repair facilities for a fleet of 2,000 black taxi cabs, making it one of the most important pieces of infrastructure in London’s early motor transport network.

The building's original art deco lettering is still visible on the gable today, a reminder of the history embedded in every corner of this remarkable South London address.
