Nassir Said started at Workspace as an Accounts Payable Clerk at the age of 19, arriving as an apprentice from his previous job. His enthusiasm and ambition immediately shone through. We sponsored his Associated Accountant Technician course and he progressed to Senior Accounts Payable, responsible for training and onboarding new staff and improving finance processes.
Nassir’s continued development meant he was recently promoted to Assistant Management Accountant. Earlier this year, Nassir shared his expertise with young people at a CV workshop event organised by the charity XLP. He received glowing feedback from the teenagers involved, who were impressed by his achievements and knowledge at a young age so close to theirs. Nassir is due to start training for his Association of Chartered Certified Accountants qualification later in the year.
Nassir has gone from strength to strength since he started at Workspace

Tim Balsom (MBA)
Tim Balsom, Senior Building Surveyor, completed his MBA in Real Estate and Construction Management in 2015. The course was undertaken in two and a half years and was fully funded by Workspace.
The course has enabled Tim to expand on his knowledge of property and construction, improved his construction management skills, allowing him to manage larger design teams, and helped him to better understand how the Company chooses its development projects. Following the course, redevelopment will now become part of his role. The Company supported Tim financially but also gave him the necessary time off to complete his studies and provided additional support in the form of colleagues sharing their expert knowledge.
Tim’s completion of the course benefits Workspace as well, as he will be able to make a greater contribution to the continued expansion of the development programme, which is a major driver of asset value and income.
Nico Riley (APC)
Nico Riley joined Workspace in 2012 as a Lettings Negotiator, having already completed a degree in Real Estate. Showing himself to be a great asset to the company, in 2014 we supported Nico (financially, as well as through the provision of time) in relocating to the Professional Serviced Department where he was able to gain vital experience in order to complete his Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) exams, enabling him to become a qualified Chartered Surveyor. As a result of his hard work and new qualifications, hopefully assisted by our support, in January 2016, Nico was promoted to the role Investment Manager within the Investment team.
Over the last year we have supported 16 other employees through professional examinations and qualifications. It is part of our strong commitment to attracting and retaining the very best people and making Workspace a great place to work.
