Chained to your desk and too busy to stop for food? Here’s a round-up of the best apps for a healthy lunch in London.

Potage

Best for choice

For days when you’re in a fancy-eating mood and craving a smoked salmon, avocado and brown rice salad delivered to your desk, Potage is the answer. Choose from a variety of freshly made salads or filling microwavable hot pots, such as herby meatballs with bulgar wheat. On a high-protein diet? Potage allows you to order extra portions of free-range chicken breast, seared tuna or smoked salmon. Group work lunches are also catered for, with sharing platters of antipasti, raw veg, cheese and charcuterie. Potage panders to cheat days too, boasting an array of tempting puddings – white chocolate berry cheesecake, anyone?

Really great food and easy delivery! You can pay through cash, PayPal or card. Our food was the perfect size portion and absolutely delicious.

Nutrifix

Best for speed

Craving a healthy lunch tailored to your nutritional needs but don’t have time to prep or scour the streets? Simply enter your height, weight, food preferences and health goals in the Nutrifix app and you’ll be presented with a list of appropriate restaurants and dishes. Luckily, thanks to a collaboration with Deliveroo, your health-boosting meal will be delivered in less than an hour. Hala El-Shafie, Registered Dietitian and Consultant Nutritionist, tells homeWORK, “There’s great variety, which means you can pick what you fancy, but because the app is tailored to your needs, it highlights exactly which outlets and menu options will suit you.

Love the personal score for each meal and gives you loads of options

SoulMate

Best for vegetarians

Endure early starts and late nights? You can arrange a healthy breakfast, lunch, dinner and two snacks a day in minutes from your phone or laptop. Although not an app, this online healthy-food service enables you to choose week-to month-long meal plans, catering to various nutritional requirements. Try the Go for the Burn plan to lose weight; Balance if you’re training; or Build to gain extra muscle mass. There’s also a Vegetarian plan with macro-balanced, plant-based dishes such as green salad with goat’s cheese and Thai red tofu curry. El-Shafie’s verdict? “Nutritionally balanced and tastes great.”

Soulmate helps me keep my nutrition on point when I’m running around like a mad woman

Eatfirst

Best for exotic taste

Founded in 2014 by head chef Benn Hodges, this healthy-food app delivers a variety of tasty, freshly prepared meals to your home or office. The company’s exotic Taste of Asia range has always been popular with hungry customers and it can now also be ordered from the holy grail of online shopping, Ocado. Choose from tastebud-tempting dishes, including miso-glazed salmon or spicy flat-iron steak, which recently won the Great Taste Award. It’s clear that the food is of fine-dining standard, but we think a few more options would make this alluring foodie app extra special.

Can’t fault the quality of the meals, and wide choice of delivery slots is great. Only complaint is I’d like to see the menu change up a bit more
