Kit and Caboodle Ltd., experiential events specialists based at Workspace, have brought their quirky Mad Hatter Gin & Tea Party experience to life in Notting Hill. We chat to Director Suzi Clark to discover what weird and wonderful things are going on behind the scenes.

"We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."

"How do you know I'm mad?"

"You must be," said the Cat, "or you wouldn't have come here."

Kit and Caboodle have teamed up with experience discovery company Fever Up and Secret LDN to create a brilliantly bonkers one-and-a-half-hour Mat Hatter Gin & Tea Party immersive event in Notting Hill.

Based at Workspace’s Canalot Studios in Ladbroke Grove, the events specialists spotted the unique opportunity to transform a double shop front into a world of magic and mystery, filled an array of familiar faces from Alice in Wonderland.

Guests get the chance to spend time in Wonderland, mixing gin cocktails and rubbing shoulders with the The Mad Hatter, Cheshire Cat, Dormouse, and a swath of many other bizarre characters.

“Fever Up pioneered the Alice Mad Hatter's experience themselves in New York, where people enjoyed the experience on a double-decker, sipping out of teacups of G&T while driving around Central Park,” explains Suzi. “Due to its success, they then took the event to LA, before coming to London where they approached us."

Kit & Caboodle were excited to take on curating it for the experience-seeking London audience. They adapted the script to fit the humour of Londoners with nods to current UK culture and subcultures, and hired a scriptwriter, director and cast of talented actors to turn their vision into a curious reality.

“We had never done anything quite like this before so it was new to us but we loved it," says Suzi. “Upon entry, each guest is fitted with a curious sort of hat and while they're busy enjoying their first gin cocktail, they meet the Cheshire Cat and then the white rabbit who warns them that they're in danger because the Queen of Hearts is on a rampage.”

From here, “they all scurry down the rabbit hole,” she says, before they find themselves in the psychedelic excitement of Wonderland. That’s where the fun really begins, explains Suzi. Here, guests are taught by professional cocktail mixers how to make fantastic cocktails from wonderful gins. “They then have a massive rave down in Wonderland and come out in the Cheshire Cat's magical bar where they can enjoy food - and more drinks, of course!” says Suzi.

Don’t be late for this very important date or it’ll be ‘off with your head’!
