Workspace believe your business shouldn’t be confined to the four walls of your office. Find out how Breast Cancer Care, based at Chester House, uses the space for planning its inspiring events and fundraisers and truly embrace the No Limits message.

At the heart of every Workspace building is a desire to create working environments that are more than just functional. We want you to find an inspirational place of work for you and your colleagues to look forward to working in every day. Breast Cancer Care are based at Chester House and benefitted from not only the office space, but the support of Workspace in their annual event The Show London, which raises thousands for those affected by breast cancer. We caught up with them to find out more about what No Limits means to them.

When you have breast cancer, everything changes. At Breast Cancer Care, we understand the emotions, challenges and decisions someone faces every day, and we know that everyone’s experience is different. Our services of care, support and information, are free and available to anyone that needs support coping with the most difficult challenge they could ever face.”

What is The Show?

The Show is Breast Cancer Care’s annual fundraiser which take place in both London and Glasgow. The event celebrates the strength and courage of the men and women models who take to the catwalk for the first time, following a breast cancer diagnosis. It’s an inspiring occasion and proves that you can still look and feel fabulous after a diagnosis.

This unique event combines fashion, celebrities, real people and a worthy cause making it a popular date for their supporters, their corporate partners and the media alike.

“This year, in London, we welcomed 700 guests for an afternoon lunch show and a further 750 for an evening dinner show.”

The Show London 2017 took place on 28th September. “We raised over £370,000 for those affected by breast cancer from our London show alone. Our 31 models looked so beautiful and courageous on the catwalk, with cheering from their friends, family and supporters of the charity in the audience. We were delighted to welcome Jacquie Beltrao and Denise Van Outen to host and Geri Horner to speak as a patron of the charity.”

As well as entertainment from Erin Connell from the Voice Kids and Georgina Hagen, a West End musical star and the headlining act, Tony Christie, there was plenty of fun on the night – with a fantastic live auction, photo booth competitions and lots of fundraising games.

“For The Show, we also used an additional office space for our stylist Hilary Alexander, fashion journalist as well as judge of Britain’s Next Top Model, to manage the clothing for the catwalk show. This space was perfect! We used this space to collate all the clothes donated from designers and high street shops, and hosted our model fitting day, for our models to try on the clothes and practice their strut for the catwalk! We turned the office space into a practice runway!”

The Workspace community love being a part of the Breast Cancer Care journey, from bake sales to office space; “The Workspace community have really got behind the charity and the cause. The Show was no exception. Workspace have been incredibly supportive throughout, helping us to find the best space to host the stylist’s[AR1]  room.”

Breast Cancer Care also take the opportunity to collaborate or share ideas with other businesses in the centre. “We’ve supported businesses in the centre to raise money for the charity, hosting their own charity fundraising events.”
