Green Office Week - Food Waste Prevention Stall
It’s Green Office Week from Monday 15 May so officers from North London Waste Authority (NLWA) are coming along to offer their tools and tips on reducing food waste both at home and at work! They will hold their stall on from 12pm to 14:00pm on the [add exact location in building]
Food makes up a huge proportion of north London's waste and research has found that if the average family stopped wasting food, they could save up to £60 per month. NLWA officers will be talking about the best ways to prevent this waste, along with the benefits, to your pocket and the environment, of bringing leftovers from home as a packed lunch the next day. British workers spend £5.5 billion each year on shop-bought lunches when preparing your own lunch helps reduce packaging waste and is often cheaper than buying directly.
Officers will be giving out FREE measuring tools for rice and spaghetti, Tupperware containers, recipe cards for leftovers and lots more! You also have the chance to WIN a stainless steel fridge thermometer if you come and make a food waste related pledge, whether this is to use up leftovers at home or to try and utilize your freezer more.
