Chris Dines has a long career as an entrepreneur and thought leader in the areas of business intelligence, technology and growth company finance. An economics graduate, he qualified as a Chartered Accountant and managed a successful corporate finance team at PwC. As CEO, he built leading Tech Research business, Ovum, achieving an IPO on the London Market and subsequent sale (now part of Informa Group). He has built, from scratch, Knowledge Peers and Informed Funding, with both organisations focused on P2P knowledge sharing in the UK SME sector. He is on the Boards of leading PropTech business Key Agent and leading PR business, William Murray Communications.
Tom Billings, Founder and Director at BrightStar Capital
Tom is a founding director of BrightStar Capital London. BrightStar are hands on investors that look to acquire small, owner managed businesses in the UK. They currently have three portfolio companies across health and well-being, healthcare and manufacturing. Prior to BrightStar, Tom raised growth equity funding and provided strategic advice for earlier staged companies. His formative years were spent in Shanghai, China where he was MD (Asia) for a large private equity backed manufacturer, and he also ran his own investment consultancy. Tom holds a BA from Dartmouth College, USA.
Malcolm Holloway, Director of the EFM Network
Malcolm provides hands on, on-site business advisory support, through his professional and practical experience, gained through many years of business leadership, advisory practice and financial management. He is also a fully qualified Chartered Accountant, with over thirty years’ experience in general practice and management roles with medium sized accountancy firms and SME’s. Malcolm has spent the last 15 years running his own business, advising SME’s and high growth start-ups. He currently sits on the board of a number of Venture Capital backed high growth technology businesses’, and acts as a finance director for a regional Venture Capital Firm, where he assists in investment decisions. Malcolm has a wealth of experience in operating companies. He started, bought and sold his own businesses as well as assisting client companies in raising funds and realising value on exit.
