Need to step up on efficiency in 2016? There are lots of apps to help you do just that. Here are just a few we really like.

If efficiency and prioritising tasks are something you need help with, then these apps might be the answer. They'll make sorting out what you need to do - and how - easier and more fun. One of them will even sort out your morning coffee.

An app which lets you make ‘recipes’. It automates everyday techie tasks so you don’t have to worry about them.

What it does for you: It switches on the heating automatically when you leave work; log how much time you're spending at work or at home; keep on top of your fitness schedule.

An app which breaks up your day. It allows you to segments your time so you can focus on one task harder.

What it does for you: You can type a short label for what you should be doing, “Answer emails” for example. You specify how long you want to do that, and you can select an icon to act as an instant reminder for that task, an envelope perhaps. Then after you can do something else.

Enough of desperately checking all combinations of the name of your childhoodpet, and the last name of the street you grew up on. Here's an app which allows you to have ONE SINGLE PASSWORD. The only downside is you'll have to pay for it.

What it does for you: creates strong, unique passwords for all of your sites and logs you in with a single tap.

The Verge called it 'the best to-do list app for the average person'.  This app helps you make attractive to-do lists and share them with your colleagues and family. You can also assign up to 25 to-dos to collaborators.

What it does for you: Organise and share your to-do, work, grocery, movies and household lists.
