Workspace have recently teamed up with the collaborative charity, the Rainmaker Foundation as a Company Rainmaker. We talked to its Director and Co-founder, Hollie Carr, about the ways in which Workspace are going to strengthen their CSR drive and how every company based at Workspace can get involved. She left her job at IBM on a sabatical which quickly turned into a longer journey to help businesses make the world a better place.

If you would like to discuss further and explore opportunities for your company, you can contact Hollie Carr, Director and Co-Founder, of the Rainmaker Foundation on hollie@rainmakerfoundation.org with a little background information. Tell us about the Rainmaker Foundation and what you do

Rainmaker Foundation is a collaborative charity that connects individuals, families and organisations with causes they care about to achieve greater impact.  We have a proactive community of 'Rainmakers' - exceptional people and organisations committed to making a difference in the best way they can.  Our aim is to inspire generosity and make it effective - to harness everyone's skills, knowledge, capabilities and talents to help achieve real results for causes all over the world.

Everyone wants to make a difference yet people often don't know where to start or how to make the most of their valuable contribution.  Rainmaker Foundation aims to inspire, enable and maximise the effectiveness of generosity - to make it as easy and fulfilling as possible - and create the greatest positive social impact.

How are you going to help Workspace with their CSR and community strategy?

Workspace has joined the Rainmaker Community as a Company Rainmaker and as such has access to the Rainmaker Community, events, expert workshops as well hundreds of validated charities and causes all over the world.  As experts in the field of charitable giving, Rainmaker Foundation, are on hand to advise and provide guidance to Workspace as it develops a strong CSR and community strategy, as a kind of sounding board.

Rainmaker Foundation has also shared with Workspace their tried and tested methodology and framework for creating effective charitable partnerships and have been working with Elin Haf Davies, who is doing an amazing job at Workspace, to discuss and develop ideas for the group.

How can the new and growing companies housed in Workspace get involved with this?

We would be very happy to talk to any individuals or companies about how Rainmaker Foundation may be able to help them and/or their company with their charitable giving.  We can advise on how you can establish an organisation that has a higher purpose beyond making profit and the many benefits, including stakeholder engagement, relationship building, trust and reputation, mission based brand association and attracting and retaining clients.

We are also in the early stages of exploring how we may create a Workspace Charitable account, where all members could contribute to a shared fund, safe in the knowledge that the donation was going to not just one charity but a number of excellent causes in the most effective way.  Contributing members could then multiply their donation and report back the total impact achieved, without them all having to do the work individually of setting this up in house.

What are the easiest ways the new and growing companies in Workspace can step up their CSR strategy by getting involved with the Rainmaker Foundation?

We can offer the service mentioned above to companies independently, so please do get in touch if you would like to discuss further.

For more information you can have a look at our website: www.rainmakerfoundation.org, which includes case studies, testimonials, charitable impact and some of the people involved, including our Patron Archbishop Desmond Tutu.
